Cool Navagation System

My 350 came with a stock Navagation System with a 2002 DVD version disc. I checked on the internet and a replacement that is coming out next month is going for almost $200. I have warrenty on the car, but from a used deliership. I heard that if you register you nissan they might give you one free upgrade. If that's not true, does anyone have an updated version that they wanted to sell. I tried my brother navagation cd from his 2006 Avalon that is 10 times better than mine, but it wasn't compatable.

Shouldn't you be saying "Damn Americans" since it is the American division of Nissan that is not offering it to you? >_<;;

Smile Navigation system questions...

hey everyone,

Currently i have an 2004.5 Nissan Touring edition,

The only thing i didnt get with my Z car was a Navi from Nissan, If i wanted to go with a Nissan navi for the Z car, does it fit into that little cubby area in the center I/P?

Secondly, Should i stick with getting a navi from nissan, or should i go aftermarket? and if so, what are good aftermarket Navi systems and where should i purchase one....

I am from Michigan btw thanx everyone!

I am pretty sure the Navi DVD unit will not read DVD-Rs. Nissan would have to be dumb to allow that. But then again, who knows...

Go with an aftermarket Navigation system. I have the OEM navigation system and if I want to install a DVD player/mp3 player/CD player double din touch screen head unit, I will lose the OEM navigation voice narreted feature of the OEM nav.

You might as well get the Eclipse AVN5495 or the AVN5435:
http://www.eclipse-web.com/avn/avn5495.html
With this option, you will get a navigation system as well as tons of other stereo DVD player feature for nearly the same price or even less sometimes.

I'm going to get the AVX2404 which has everything except the navigation:
http://www.eclipse-web.com/avx/avx2404.htm

But again, putting an aftermarket head unit will lose you your OEM navigation voice direction narretor.
