Looking For Some Cheap MidBass Replacements For Rear.
Hey everyone. I'm looking to replace the midbass rears with an affordable pair (I'll go with premium sound sometime down the road).
6.5" size and $80 (or under) would be great.
Any suggestions?

$150 with Hex X-overs, $130 without.
Sorry if this is over price-range but they are really nice like I said and I paid much much more not too long ago.

I got the Hex set for $350 last year which included Tax here in California. It came with 1" silk tweeters which I want to keep. I've replaced all of my spkrs with CDT Audio, I also have a set of Phoenix Gold Elite 6.5s I will be selling, but probably for the same price.
Are you sure you want to upgrade just the rear speakers first? I don't know your setup, but from the sound of your post it seems like you have completely stock audio and want to improve sound for around $80??
I would suggest not buying youself something you will end up replacing when you get the cash flow to do an entire upgrade. Why not upgrade the fronts instead of the rears with something like CDT CL-6s. They go for about $80 from CDTs webstore. That way your system wil sound better now and when you get the money you can get a nice set of crossovers and tweeters to go with them..and then later on down the road you can get a nice head unit, amps, sub, and rear fills if you feel you still need them.

Are CDT's really that good?
Sexy350zStud03, I've been eyeing those Audiobahn's for a while now. I might end up getting those.
MidBass speakers (or MidRange drivers) is the woofer without the tweeter. Like these for example You don't have to amp them, but it's always better to amp speakers anyway.

The CDT's are the best in the price range IMO. They live up to the name "mid-bass" as as opposed to "Mid-range." With the emphasis on the faithful reproduction of bass in the freq range just above those produced by your sub. This was the biggest issue I had with other component sets..they didn't produce mid bass in the front cabin..something was missing.
CDT sells all of their component pieces individually, so you can start with a mid, add a xover and tweeter, and then take it a step further with Stagefront and other options. Furthermore you can buy them directly from the manufacturer with full warranty as they are having a summer sale. Only problem with CDT is (like Focal) they are deep, with a big magnet and will take a rather large spacer to mount successfully in the front. The rear's will fit fine.

go to www.partsexpress.com and check out the Dayton Reference line. They are pretty inexpensive, but have some great reviews behind them.
