The DVD screen and XM are in.

Tomorrow I will work on the TV tuner, disk changer, NAV, and if there is time the AMP and speaker system.

All of the componemts are hidden in the glove box to retain the factory look.

Nav and SUB should be installed in a couple of days.

Looks like it will be an awesome system! How do you hook all of that up without scratching or destroying your dash!?! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Looks like you forgot to buy the Metra kit. You can use that kit and it comes with a trim ring that will cover the big gaps you have around the radio.

I'm going to use the trim piece that came with the head unit. It will need a little triming on the botom for a smooth look. This will be the absolute last piece to be installed.

I tried that. The dash has a curve on it, that the head unit trim piece does not have. It will not look good. Just trying to keep you from making mistakes that I am sure other people have done. The metra kit is what everyone uses. It only runs about $20 bucks.

If I get the Metra kit will the trim piece snap in without using the rest of the kit?

Yes the trim piece just snaps on to the factory brackets. You do not use the rest of the kit. Basically you use the factory brackets to hold the radio and the front of the brackets have holes in them that the trim piece snaps into.

Cool! Did you finally go with the Metra Kit? If so, where did you pick it up?

Do you have a p/n or model or something? I'm trying to find the same kit at my local Circuit City (apparently they carry Metra) ...

Checked on the Crutchfield site and saw a kit @ $19.95. Didn't say Metra, but if you put in your "Z" info it lists the wiring harness plus bracket/face kit.

Having ECLIPSE AVX2494 installed this week. Installer shows Metra part #40-N111 on the invoice ($9.95). Is this the face plate, bracket or complete kit?

That's right. I bought the Metra and use that piece. If anyone wants to install a single Din set up and needs the rest of the pieces let me know.
