Default Kenwood Excelon Audio/Video System with Rockford Power Bass!

I got the custom box and 2 power 12's done in the trunk, the custom amp-rack and a power amp and stiff-cap, and a new in-dash excelon dvd player, as well as, excelon components replacing the rear speakers. Excelon components to replace the front will be installed on Tuesday. Hid the excelon four channel amp that is used to run the components in the compartment behind my seat. Neons will be installed on Saturday. If you haven't guessed yet... I like to use the word excelon... a lot. Sorry 'bout that.

Default A little advice wanted.

It's almost done. I just need some help tuning it. I can't figure out the best frequencies to run my Treble, Middle, and Bass at. I want crystal clear and loud sound out of my Components, that you can hear through the all the bass, but I want the mids to stay loud, and I want to be able to maintain a humongous boom out of my subs. What are the best freqs for each, can anyone help?

Default About the rattling...

Actually no, it doesnt rattle the hatch at all. this car is very sound proofed, and the hatch is pretty heavy and very sturdy. i got matting put in for the sound, its a little better than dynamat. and it makes it sound very deep from outside the car. but nope, no rattles.

Yeah, i have it preset for ROCK, and then i turned the bass all the way up from there, but does the bass run better at a lower freq or higher.

No way man, i keep the volume down when i am riding in it. I turned it up about half way and my wife said she was starting to feel sick, like it was churning up her insides... ha ha ha. Nice work with the paint matching on that sub... is that a T1 or 2?

how do the components sound in the rear? is it beneficial to get components in both front and rear?

I think it is becuase you get a lot more sound from all around you not just in front. Plus, the little tweeter right behind your head lets you hear all that clear high sound like its right in your ears, especially when the music has like a high hat or a cymbal in it, you really get a crisp "ta tchh".
anyway, it works good for a surround sound effect having components all the way around. cause you got highs and mids everywhere.

i see what you're saying...is that excelon HU 5.1 surround? and what kind of amp (if any) are you using to power those 8 speakers?

i'm getting an 8017 and am wondering if i should still get an amp for the front and rears or not...now that mention having tweeters in the rear as well, i may want to go that route considering if it makes a big difference or not...i definitely want surround sounds for when watching DVDs

its 5.1, and i use that excelon 4 channel in the pics above. it runs both sets of components, front and rear. i use the crossovers that come with the components to filter the power to the highs and mids of each set. one set, which consists of 2 mids and 2 tweeters, will use two channels, then the other two channels power the other set, equalling 8 speakers amplified, from just one 4 channel amp.

Default T112d4

Yeah me too, cause i got two so i can run them in parallel and wind up with only a 1 ohm load. then that way my amp pushes the full 1000 watts to both subs simultaneously. I get exactly timed hits that are both deep and perfectly in sync creating that bone shaking boom. I love it man. Rockford really stepped it up with that power line.
