Default Aftermarket battery...

Hey guys, my battery is dead and I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket one. What batteries should I consider? I searched and found many of you have gone with the optima lightweight battery. But doesn't this battery provide less cranking amps and less reserve than the stock battery? This optima battery is in a different group (51), as opposed to the stock which i belive is in group 34.

Will the lightweight optima work fine?

BTW I'm running a Jl 500/1 and 300/4 amps

thanx

Optima. Best battery out there. It isn't due to the weight only. Optimas are solid state batteries, so no acid. They can be placed at angle and are very durable.

That's exactly what I run on my Optima Lightweight Yellowtop. No issues so far, had it around a year.

I love my Yellow Top, starts easier and have no noted drain. I also run the 500/1 and 300/4 amps.

I have an optima yellow top in my Eclipse (I don't know if it light weight or not). I am running two 12" L7's with two kicker 850.2 amps with no problems at all.

I would highly recomend the yellowtop.

Isn't the yellow top for those who intend to run their after market stereo with the car off. Would not the Red tops be better for an all around battey? It offers better Cold Cranking Amps than yellow tops.

lightweight one here, I'm not sure if they offer a "light" red top, that's why most are using the yellow.

I'm using the Red on my G, but the terminals are reversed so you'll have to make extensions for your battery terminals if they are similar to the G.

When I do a search on optima's website for a match, it says that there are no batteries available for the 350z ... is there a best match yellow top?

Anyone with suggestions on what group/model battery to buy? I went to autozone yesterday and the only thing that come up in the system was a Red Top, Group 35.

In competition we've found that Stinger batteries out perform Optima batteries across the board (amps, durability, and longevity). Either battery is better then stock, but in competition (we compete Nationally in sound quality and sound pressure events in dBDrag, MECA, & IASCA in 4 different vehicles).

There is an order code for the yellow tops to get the terminals on the correct side ... (R) I think.

What's the model/part number you're using?

+1 on Paul's Request ... Also, any feedback on Orbital?

Mostly, I just need to know which p/n fits in the stock location for our cars ...
