I am thinking about upgrading my pioneer hu to a new kenwood with optional HD tuner, or a panasonic... was wondering if anyone heard or have one installed and what your experience is.. having the itch to buy on today

 

It was all the rave at last years Radio NAB ... just like stereo AM was 10 years ago.

I don't think that it's going to get traction aginst the likes of XM and Sirius satellite delivered radio.

 

One time cost only: the tuner. No subscription fees. So, did you get it?

 

The sound quality is noticably better with HD radio. It also lists song and artist titles on your reciever. However you still have to deal with all of the comercials and edited songs.

Keep in mind that only some channels broadcast in the new digital format. So you will only hear the better quality on some of the channels.

I think XM or Sirius is the way to go if you want digital radio.

well... I didnt get it yet. I have been to over 4 different shops in socal and NObody have it on display so I can hear the difference. I just spent over 3k in equipment and install, I am kinda dissapointed in the sound quality of sirius, it just seems its missing the highs, yes the signal is clear, but to me seem some what muffled, honestly I personally feel a strong signal FM station sounds noticably better than sirius. I am going to wait on the HD HU, instead I am in the market for a DVD HU that can play a DVD Full of MP3s, only one I can find that actually confirms that is the Alpine... but skipping from song 1 to 4 takes 15 seconds Maybe I just need to pick up an Ipod

Any ideas?
