Default Import dealers---need help w/ new Alpine unit!

I am going to be ordering my Z soon and I need help trying to get stereo equipment from Alpine Japan---Alpine as a new double din AV/NAV/ headunit. I tried doing a search but no luck! Does anyone know who can order Alpine equipment from Japan?

If you get a chance check it out at www.alpinejp.com or go to their website and click on global then Japan.

some nice stuff there... keep in mind that US alpine dealers won't touch this if you have any problems.. similar to toronto350's bit about the sony HU from japan... hope it works, cause if it doesn't, you're not gonna have an easy time of it. oh yeah, i work for an alpine dealer.

Default aren't the fm frequencies different?

The last time i was in japan, i asked in akihabara (the electronic swap meet of japan) if i could install one of those hot radios from alpine that are sold for the japanese market. Tthey told me no, the FM frequencies were different, so the cd's would work but not the FM, so i said forget it. Has this changed?? That's a hot looking head unit by the way.

Some companies offer a free FM converter that will make the HU's FM, compatible with our frequencies.
