Default XM techno stations suck

I was on the verge of getting the XM2Go unit. I decided to get the free 3 day trial of XM. I'd be mainly getting it for techno based music. Only 4 stations and they suck! I love the trance station from www.di.fm. How does Sirius compare (regarding trance/techno)?

Sirius reciever would have to be able to be used in the car, at the house, and at the gym (built in antenna).

I have XM now, but had Sirius in the car I traded in. Sirius techno/trance stations are better, but I think overall XM has better sound quality and channels overall. Before I get flamed, I think it's all a matter of preference.

I've signed up for the 3 day Sirius trial and love it. Does Sirius make a portable unit yet?

i had XM in my Integra, and I have Sirius in my Z, I have to agree with you on the sounds quality. I really think that XM puts out a better sound than Sirius...it may be that XM has better compression techniques or it just runs at a higher bit rate, but I do the the SQ is much better with XM.

Having said that, I would have to say that Sirius has more and better choices in terms of music...

Is this what you're talking about? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1110264214702 I need something that has a built in antenna so I can listen to some tunes while I'm at the gym, too.

XM is the only one that has a portable unit where you can listen to it live. They justed debuted two new units at CES today.

Sirius dance stations are as follows: The Beat-new dance music you would hear on your local dance station (not too heavy or fast, kinda "accessible" dance music) and remixes of newer pop songs like Pussycat Dolls and Killers, sometimes has old 80's dance music...I listen to it, but not much..... Chill-Chillout dance music like Portishead and stuff. They play too much Radiohead on that station IMO. Boombox-Old school rap and breakbeat type music with some dance/house thrown in. A lot of drum n bass too. Decent. Area 33-The best one they have, plays underground house, PVD, Oakenfold, Junior Jack, Tiesto etc. Also has some 2 hour mixes thrown in here and there. There was a station called Remix that only played those mixes and it was f'ing awesome but they took it off and moved some of the mixes to Area 33.

I would choose Sirius every day and twice on Sunday overall.

Just for the heck of it I decided to take the XM2Go into my office to see if the internal antenna would pick anything up. This thing is badass because I'm running off batteries and the internal antenna is picking up the stations with all three bars of signal strength and I don't even sit next to a window. I just have it sitting in it belt clip cradle. I guess the terrestrial repeaters must have some positive affect on this or maybe I am getting some strange propogation path. I figured I'd have to hook it up to the external home antenna to get any music. Now I'm wondering if I really need the external antenna for my car.
