They are made by PAC Audio. The link is:

These are all the steering wheel audio control adapters they make. There isn't a specific p/n for Zs. SWI-X is their universal adapter so it can be used on a Z with various aftermarket HUs. As you'll see, they also have specific adapters for certain HU brands that accept a wired remote input.

I sure do plan on installing one of these when I upgrade my stereo; likely in a month or so.

Has anyone tried the SWI-ALP instead of the SWI-X? The website says it's Nissan compatible, but then when I went to crutchfield.com to buy it, their fit guide said that it wouldn't work in my car.

that is only used on some Alpine radios, it doesn't work with all of them becuse it plugs in the back of the HU, but the SWI-X is universal because it uses infrared waves just like a remote control, and you program your steering controls thru comands on the wheel's controls.....and you can have mine for $ 42 shipped....hehehe

Not just Alpine, but it also supports JVC & Kenwood. What head unit are you using?

That sucks. Oh, well...I decided today to go with wheels before stereo anyway. Hopefully by the time I'm ready it will be available.

Same here. I'll make my own if I have to but I'd rather spend the time doing something else.

Ok.. I drive an 06 and have been waiting for a damn kit as well. I hit up this company (SonicElectronix) and asked them for an 06 kit since their website says 2002+ , Anyway after talking to 2 sales reps, they both claim their kit will indeed fit an 06. They are probably smoking crack, but can anyone confirm?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2590.html

Thats the link to the item, the item number is NN1497B

Thanks!

That is the Scoche kit for up to 2005. I have this kit and although it does fit, it looks like crap. Scoche or Metra will probably be the first to come out with the necessary rounded housing edges for the new 2006 design.
