Thumbs down Bose CD Player issue

What program do you guys use to burn mp3 cd's for your z? Also, which type of CD-R's seem to be the most effective?

I'm not having much luck here.. every disc I burn won't play... just sits there and says what disc is currently active..

I use Acoustica MP3 CD Burner. Burns mp3 as well as regular cd's.

Acoustica MP3 CD Burner is intuitive music burning software! Not only will it burn your music in the order you want it, but it will let you edit each song to get rid of silence, extra long applauses or fade in and out incomplete songs! Boost or EQ each song individually so that you don't have to constantly adjust the volume dial on your stereo! Burn all the major types of audio files, including MP3, OGG, WMA and WAV. Rip your CDs to make your own MP3, OGG, WMA or WAVs! Squeeze 200 songs on a CD or 1000 songs on a DVD! This software was designed to be easy to use to get the job done!

Best discs are azo-layer discs (have a bluish tint) Taiyo-yuden and Verbatim's are usually azo-layer. Also make sure to use a CD-R not CD-RW as compatability is less with the latter.

i've never had a problem w/ any burned cds in mine. It could be the software you're using, not the actual type of discs. Try using a different program. I use iTunes and have never had an issue.

They WILL play burned cds. That's pretty much all I listen to in my '03 Bose. True...they won't play mp3s, but that wasn't his issue.

Actually I think his issue was that his Bose HU wouldn't play mp3 CD's, and the reason is because it's not an mp3 CD player. Mine has always played burned CD's fine except for the problem of skipping when it's cold.

One other thing. If your're using software such as Nero or Roxio to create an mp3 CD, make sure you write it as ISO and finalize the disc. Don't use UDF or ISO & UDF. Cd's create with UDF file system are for reading in PC's and are not compatible with cd/mp3 stereos.

after re-reading the original post, you may be right. I just assumed someone would know that their head unit isn't MP3 compatible.

In a previous post he mentions he has a 2005 Touring 350, so I imagine his BOSE headunit is mp3 capable.
