Default Hey everyone.

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just paid for my z and waiting to pick it up on wed Most people would post this in the newbie forum but I am a Audio guy so I wanted to post here because this is the section I will be spending most of my time. Ive worked on and designed systems for probally over a 100 z's at my store here in frisco Tx. so I am pretty excited to finally be getting my own.

I am not quite sure what I will be doing yet but it is going to be something very high end.

What I am saving to do right now consists of.

The new alpine Double din
Alpine Blackbird nav system
Polk SR 6500's
2 JL 6w04's
2 8w7's

I allready have 2 JL 300/2's a RE 12.1 to power the system. along with 3 bulk kits of dynamat.

System will consist of custom painted door pods. Custom Fiberglass box. and a amprack down where the sparetire is. I have A Airbrush guy that does custom motorcycles that is goign to paint all my stuff for me so I am going to go pretty creative.

This system will hold me over until I can afford my focal kit no6 and my HV venti audison

I wanted to make this post so I have a place to post picture's while I go along in my install.

everytnign sounds asesome, but where are you putting the 6w0s? i would say do the sr6500 in the kicks and glass an enclosure in the door for a 6w0, now THAT would be awesome

That is the plan right now. I am either going to do them there or I am going to build enclosures inside where the rear speakers are and put them into there. I know its goign to kill my soundstage.. but it will be ashort term midbass solution lol

I got 8 W7s. They're awesome.

BUT

Just incase you're interested I can give you a great deal on 10 W7s and a 1000/1 amp. I got 'em for my other car but have decided to sell it so now I have all these speakers that I never installed.

But anyway, welcome and post pics when you're done.

If anyone here can get me a GOOD price on a 10w7, please PM me.

Can't wait for pics of the finished install. I am from Bedford. I might have to stop by the shop once you get the audio install finished.

Started the installation last night.

We sealed off the back speaker holes and made them into enclosures using wood and liquid abs. Then I put 4 layers of dynamat extreme on the inside and stuff them full of polyfill.

We also got all wire ran, RCA's, speaker leads into the kick and the ott gague from the batter to the tire well.

Here is the end result of the 6wo4 I will be using for midbass in there new sealed enclosures

picture of the 6w04 in rear enclosure. The facotry grills do go right back over so it looks stealth. Once I get some power on it I will let eveyone know how it sounds.

Hmm where exactly is your shop. I'm from Ft Worth and should be coming back down there from NC pretty soon and I am going to be looking to get HU, subs, amps and speakers that sound decent, are 900k bucks and are well concealed.

My shop is located in frisco texas. Its north of dallas and plano. coming from ft worth you could take 121 north all the way here.

Nice work, but could you please explain to me why you would place your midbass (a speaker that produces fairly localizeable frequencies) behind your head.

LOL....welcome to the board. I'm curious as to how that sounds, especially if you crossed them over real low.

because A. They are going to be used as my subs until I get my fiberglass done. B because they will be extending from like 50 to 150. which mean they will not take away from imaging in anyway. C. Because its cool as hell to have many woofers right behind your head.

anymore questions?

yeah. I will ask again how do you think that a localizeable frequency will not take away any from your front stage?

sorry you have to ask again. The part that I typed where I said they would be ambient once the 2 8W7's go in didnt save. They are being put in right now to act as much subs so I have nothing in the way when we are glassing. They will only be turned on after that if I have customers that A just want to hear something cool wiht alot of mid, or B are looking to get a smaller sub setup in there vehicle. Everyone says a 6" There is no way that produces any bass. I just want to show them otherwise.

Man it sucks I had to retype all that again lol
