Low cost real time GPS tracking for the 350Z
Last week I put a pretty cool little GPS tracking device in my wife's 350Z (yes, she knows about it, and thought it was cool).
It's basically a cell phone (w/built in GPS) that has a special software program on it that uploads your co-ordinates to an internet server that only you have access to. You leave it running in your vehicle and then you can login to the website and view in real time the vehicle location on Google Maps.
It's got alot of features - it will show vehicle speed, and you can set a "GeoFence" feature - basically you can set a predetermined area, if your vehicle goes into or out of this area (you choose) you can set up the website to send you a text message or email of what is going on with the car.
I picked it up for about $100 - and then you have to pay $6.00 a month for the cell phone service. It's pretty much the cheapest tracking system around from what I've researched.

Thanks! It's great to see a company motivated to provide this service! Now when you drop the Z off for service you can document where they joy rode it and negotiate a discount!

I work for a company that does vehicle tracking. The phone based tracking systems ie nextel/boost. Offer a very basic tracking service that is cheap to get into. If you realy want a lot of functionality in a tracking system you need to go to a stand alone tracking unit.
We offer tracking units that can update your vehicle position every 5 seconds in real time on any desktop.
