Default 7inch screen/DVD reciever replacing BOSE??????

I have a few questions. I am doing the Feirenheit 7inch screen in the cubby hole and want to replace the BOSE unit with the JVC dvd receiver. My question is...is there anything special I need to replace to get the new JVC DVD reciever to play well with all of the BOSE system???

The rumor i heard was u needed a special wiring kit to replace the BOSE system.......is this true.

Thanks

The bloze wiring is looking for line level outputs to their remote "amplifiers". These weak @ss things are so small you might mistake them for anything else other than a power amplifier. Their wimpy speakers aren't much of anything other than a complete and total waste of money too.

Default Some Info.

If you want to keep your Bose Headunit and replace the amp and speakers, you need this:
http://www.pac-audio.com/oem1kits/ao...or+AOEM-1+kits

If you want to change you Bose headunit and keep your stock amp and speakers, you need this:
http://www.pac-audio.com/oem1kits/ro...or+ROEM-1+kits

You cannot change your speakers and keep the stock amp. (Impedances, the stock speaker are some wierd 8 ohms...)

You cannot change the stock amp and keep the stock speakers.

You cannot change the headunit without the above adaptor or something similar.

Even tho you didn;t ask for Opinios,.,,I will give you mine. Do this if you are short on budget, or if you are plainning to replace the system later, the boss system is not really that good. IF you replace the HU and add and LCD, it will really worth to replace the front speakers and add a small Amp. You don't need to spend that much money there. Maybe add 1 Amp in the back and you are good to go. you can disable the rear speaker or leave them with the Boss sys. that will give you an incredible sound for not much money. you'll see.

and yes, the piece that you need is the ROEM-NIS2, I have no personally use it, but PAC do really nice stuff. I also have read several others forums talking about having no problems at all using this items.

Will be nice to know if anyone in here have used it!.

the PAC audio interfaces aren't a product that's going to have an effect on sound quality, per se... it is simply an adapter that converts the audio output of your new headunit so the stock amp can accept it.

from what i understand, these type of adapters basically do this: your new headunit is gonna have a whole mess of wiring coming off the back of it, and there's gonna be a big plug where the stock HU used to be... this will allow you to mate those two connections. PAC Audio does make quality integration pieces, so it should do EXACTLY what it's supposed to.

sound quality is going to be based more on your choice of headunit than your choice of OEM integration adapters. sound quality is the overall sum of ALL the components in your signal chain. in your instance, it would be NEW HEADUNIT > BOSE AMP > STOCK SPEAKERS

i think what Paul350z and Minispider are trying to say is that, when replacing the stock headunit with a higher quality aftermarket one, the overall sound quality of the system will become hindered by the crappy stock Bose speakers and amp. a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

oh i see, basically the sound will be only as same as before installing new headunit?

i dont have any problems with it, i like the sound of my bose in my car..its pretty sweet...i dont really listen to lotta rap..just classical music and some club remixes and rave remixes and stuff and some old school lenny kravitz and mos def and others..

but ya..i'll check into that and ask the company about this.

meanwhile..anyone else reading this..can you please tell me if anyone have this product? tell me what u think

thanx!

well, the sound WILL be better than stock yes! i guess what i was saying is that it's not going to be as good as it could be (if you added speakers and an amp). of course, like modding the car in general, it's a slippery slope (i just threw another $3k at my stereo and it's not done yet!)

that being said, if you are happy with the bose and just looking for a headunit to give you those extra features like video, etc etc and a small bump in sound quality then i think you will be absolutely fine with what you're going with

sorry this is kinda OT since i haven't used the PAC adapter myself... bump for somebody to chime in!

I found a use for my Bose door speakers. I cut the centers out of them and used the outer plastic ring as a spacer for my aftermarket speakers. It looks like they where good for somthing after all.
