lol sorry guys i was didnt have much time when i started the thread. Well the deck is an alpine dva-9860 and the screen is a 6.5" alpine tme m710. The install was fairly easy. My installer found a new metra wiring harness with 3 inputs that plug into the back of the deck that your installing in your Z so you can keep your stock speakers so i didnt have to get the pac audio oem interface, i was happy about that and it sounds pretty good. I want to replace my bose system but im saving up for wheels rite now.

What is the screen used for? do you have a dvd player installed in the car as well? and if you do, hows the sound quality? I had this set up in my acura TSX but the sound sucked because i was playing the dvd's through some am radio station. picked up a lot of engine noise as well.

The screen is hooked up to the alpine deck under the screen which plays dvd's. I originally had it hooked up to a slave dvd player and was playing the music through the radio with an fm modulator similar to your TSX. It sounded horrible so I told my installer that i didnt want that set up and just bought a head unit that plays dvd's. It costed quite a bit more, but it was worth it, now it sounds good.

how good does it sound, cause i like this idea as well.. and now I am really considering it.. So does the sound quality sound just as good as those flip out tv's or does this still need to play thru the am frequency channel? Btw, setup looks really nice..

Thanks. It sounds just as good as an indash. It pretty much is an indash besides that its even better because its customized into your dash. It doesnt play through an am frequency channel. You put your dvd into the head unit and it plays the dvd straight to your screen. It sounds the same as it did when it was stock, if not, better. If you have the money for another head unit, I highly recommend it, thats if you like nice sound.
