Question Which GPS Navigation System Is Geed??

Trying to get GPS navi for the car, tons of choices out there. What do you guys suggest, something not too expensive but it would do it's work. I've done some research and apparently Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver is pretty solid choice. What do you guys suggest?

if your looking for a good car navi i personelly love the avic n1. its not a handheld, its a flip out screen. one of the best out. i have it in my other car and am going to purchase one for my z. its awesome, good navi, vehicle dynamics, dvd, cd, mp3, and its even got a brain with built in gyroscope and accelerometers!

^^ Really want something that I could swap from one car to another when needed. That unit is also is way to pricey and I'm sure for that price, it better be as good as you said it was.

What else guys? Trying to put an order for one tonight? Tired of searching!

I am a field analyst for Tele Atlas, which is one of the 2 main providers (the other being Navteq) of mapping data for these units. As such, I have both a Garmin c320 (Navteq) and a Tom Tom GO 300 (Tele Atlas). Part of my job is field testing these units, and reporting my findings. My last round of testing was done with older data, and I can tell you that neither one was significantly better or worse than the other. The Tom Tom, in my opinion, is a little more user friendly, especially at first, but once you get used to using the Garmin, it is just as easy to use. Both units had about the same amount of route failures, so depending on which one you have, you may or may not make it to a certain destination. I am starting to test on the newest data for the two units either today or tomorrow, so if you want to check back in a week, I can give you a quick update on what I'm finding with the latest data. But I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either unit. They are very useful little toys, and once you get used to having one, it would be hard to give it up!

$400 sounds like a good price. I don't know anything about the C330, but I'd assume it's a step above the C320, which was I think $600. I think you should get it!

^^^ The C330 doesn't have a SD slot, it has a hard drive of the whole United states rather than having to put a few states on the 128MB SD card in the CD320 version. That's the only difference + some look wise, it looks a little nicer too. Everything else is the same.

BTW I just placed an order

Garmin StreetPilot c330 GPS Vehicle Navigator"
Shipping Method: Two-Day Shipping
Subtotal of Items: $399.99
Shipping & Handling: $11.47
------
Total for this Order: $411.46

Thanks for your order, Mahmoud

I bought my dad the tomtom unit with bluetooth, for christmas at best buy. it died after it fell off his living room chair and hit the carpet. obviously it was probably his fault. the unit has a micro drive in it that was probably damaged.

we returned it and got another one a couple weeks later because i had purchased the service plan,

that one died after 2 months, and he did not drop it at all. i wouldnt recommend them until they change it to a memory storage device.

Check out the TomTom Go 910 - has bluetooth support for hands free, messaging, address book, etc as well as a iPod control. I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it works perfectly and is easy to swap vehicles.
