ok i did this and finished a couple of weeks ago.... first of all it sounds like ****.... i either have to make another one or try and fix this one. i used 3/4 inch MDF for the top baffle, and it just vibrates like all hell. if you put ur hand on it when the sub is hitting ur hand will look blury. i used the entire area and fiberglassed the bottom portion.....

got any pics??
Without them I am going to assume the fiberglass is not thick enough?
You should be able to push on the fiberglass box with your hand pretty hard and it should not flex. If you do the layers nice and tight with no air bubbles you may get by with 1/4" thick but most go thicker.
Give some more details or a pic. It should be an awesome spot for your sub if you get it right!

How many layers of glass did you do?

You should be able to jump up and down on your box (without it breaking) before you install it .. we call this the elephant test

Bracing is going to be critical in an enclosure like this. You can't expect to just slap a huge piece of 3/4" MDF on top of a fiberglass frame and secure only the perimeter. You need to construct adequate bracing within the enclosure. Cut MDF braces and sandwich them between the MDF baffle and the bottom and sides of the enclosure. Use glue and screws at the top, then fiberglass the braces to the top and bottom. This will eliminate flexing and vibration.
