Theoretically, you should be able to use the Navi if you ditch the factory HU. There are four wires that go from the Navi unit to the Bose (clarion) HU. They are located in the 16-pin connector.
On the back of the Bose, the wire colors are:
R/B (pin 24) : Navi ON signal
W/B (pin 30) : Navi Input -
B/P (pin 31) : Navi Ground
L/B (pin 32) : Navi Input +
The Navi On signal is +V when activated. I can't tell what the condition is - the shop manual says its hot when "Voice" button is pressed. This is probably the mute/interrupt for the audio unit. The +/- pins are the audio signal for the Navi voice itself.
Depending on your HU, you should be able to wire this into your aftermarket system. Might want to search the forum to see if anyone else has already done it. Looks fairly straightforward to me.
Its interesting to note that if you don't have factory Navi, you could probably use these inputs to wire in a mute/interrupt into your bluetooth handsfree unit or even have the audio from the handsfree unit route into the factory HU. Interesting.
