Smile 06 Cubby Screen

Does anybody have pics of their 06 Cubby Screen setup. I want to put a screen on my 06' but I don't want to replace my cubby, and I don't want to slice the back of the cubby. Is there any other choice? Thanx in advance.

Default 06 Cubby

I don't even mind replacing the cubby. I just want to know what cubby I can put in my 06 that will accept a screen. I have looked at mynismo.com and they say that their cubby for a screen does not fit 06. Then I looked at 06 cubbies and they are supposedly motorized and need the factory navi unit to work. I have sent some PM to others, but haven't gotten an overwhelming response. Hope someone out there can help me out.

To date, it doesn't seem that anyone has managed a perfect looking 06 install.

The closest it seems, is using the above 06 cubby, but from what I can tell, theres a gap on the side of the cubby and a gap on the finisher. It's expensive. And you need someone to make you a custom controller for the motor circuit. Did I mention it's expensive?

Also, the best I can tell, slicing the back off the factory cubby doesn't work too well either, the depth and angle cause some viewing issues.

Other attempts I've seen are an 03 cubby in an 06, which the door color doesn't match and has a big gap at the top of the door. Also, I dont think anyone has been able to put the 06 door on the 03 cubby.

Anyone gotten one perfect yet? If so, how'd you do it?

edit: A 7" screen WILL fit if you slice the back off the stock 06 cubby.

7" screen does fit on the back of the '06 cubby. he's right about the viewing angle to a certain degree, but the whole viewing screen does fit.

Sorry TreeZ, I got a tad confused on the 7" not fitting thing. And the viewing angle comment actually came from your thread

https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...1&postcount=13

Sigh, I just want the look and finish that people were getting by using an 03 cubby in an 04/05. Not so much to ask is it??

This thread has pretty much confirmed what I had been reading in other forums. I think I am foing to forsake the screen in the cubby for right now and go with a double dim unit in the stock radio position. I think the Alpine W200 is the best loooking that I have seen so far. Plus looks like it has some bad a** features. Let me know what u guys think.

I molded in 7" into my 06 nav con. No problems with view angle, just have to do it correctly. Lid on the nav acts like a shade.

Bringing this back up to see if anyone has come up with anything new and different for putting a 7" lcd in an 06 cubby without a ton of custom fiberglass work.
