My 300/4 amp keeps cuting out. The ground is good, and power comes from the distribution block for it and my 500/1 (works flawless) and the remote wire is the same for both my 300/4 and 500/1. I don't know why it keeps cutting out. Is the amp just gone? Tomorrow i am going to put in my friends new 300/4 and see what happens, hope its not the amp

 

Is it over heating?

Are the speakers the correct impedance (in ohms)?

Is there a speaker wire shorted to each other or to ground?

 

no overheating (can happen literally seconds after starting the car)
they are the focal kf165 so they should there should be no ohm problems
i don't think there are any shorts, how can i tell thpugh?

i had no problems for the first month it was in the car

 

You may just have a bad amp, Did you buy it from a JL dealer? If it got shipped it may have got dropped in shipping causing one of the components to come loose.

 

i am working on it today and pulled the amp out and when the car is on the power light flashes, is that normal?

thats what i thought, what could cause that? probably way to may things right?

i took it all apart and somehow the JL Master Ground Lug was coming loose and the ground wasn't good, glad the amp is ok, just a chang load of work
