Default Alpine IVA-W200 Question

Hello everyone,,,,I am sure this has been discussed many times,,,,I will apologize up front...But, I am new to this site and really need help...

I purchased the Alpine IVA-W200 today. I am doing the install myself...I did installs for years during college,,,but this DVD stuff wasnt around at that time. So,,,can anyone tell me, what steps do I take with this Brake pedal/Emerg.Brake wiring? The stereo shop said something about a toggle switch? Also, were do I tap into the "said" wires? Can someone please help me with this...I want to have DVD while driving? Any/all help is really appreciated!! Thank you much.......

I think PAC sells an interface for the Alpine radios ( model TR-7? ) so you can bypass this feature without looking for brake wires....someone correct me please about the model #...

Minispider, thank you.....so basically the PAC interface part runs a type of closed (series) circuit, making the Alpine believe both brakes have been applied and emerg. brake is still active? I called the stereo shop where I purchased everything....they seem to be making a joke out of me..I told them I wanted to install it myself, but if I ran into anything, or thought it was over my head,,I would call them. They said great..............But,,,when I called, they are saying "Well, you said you know how to install,,,what part do you not understand" I am almost tempted to return everything to them today, get my money back and shop somewhere else that appreciates you spending over a grand and potential to spend more when I figure what all audio I want. If anyone can help,,,,,,,PLEASE

I have a PAC TR-7 hooked up to my W200. It's easy to install...

the module has power and ground wires, wires to connect to the e-brake and foot brake wires of the w200, and a wire that you use to program the module. The instructions on programming it come with the TR-7. The process is really easy, but for some reason it took like 20-30 tries of programming it to get it work. But in the end, it worked...I've read similar experiences with other ppl. PM me if you have questions...I just installed this a week ago, so it's fresh in my head.

I took the two wire yellow/black & yellow/blue that goes to the brake wires and attached a off/on switch. I just tap the on switch twice and leave it on the on position and it works. I will post pictures after work. Great unit. It works right away, no waiting time or programing.

Hey guys,,,thanks for all the information/help.....I was able to pick up a toggle switch and now have everything working great with my W200. I just tapped the break pedal,,,,,then attached the toggle to yellow/blue then other side of toggle to ground.....Pump the break and flip the switch off and back on and "BAM" I'm in business...<G> Again,,thank you to everyone...Its nice to have all you guys.....I trust this site over any dealer/stereo shop...
