Exclamation Will a $50 Motion Sensor Add on Work with my stock car alarm?

hey guys i have a 2005 350z and if i'm not mistaken it has a car alarm but i need a motion sensor because my car has been keyed. Now circuit city is telling me that you have to buy an alarm from them and have it installed for the motion sensor to work. Will it work with my stock car alarm though?

just keep a metal baseball bat in your trunk and have it visible through the hatch back window.. should do the job

Your motion sensor will detect motion - caused by the wind, rain, cats, someone with a subwoofer and hearing problems, by people slamming their doors next to yours. Typically they ought to go off about 10-20 a day if you live in a decent sized parking lot, a bit more in the spring and fall when the weather is more active. If you set them low enough they'll not detect the guy keying the car but will detect break-in attempts or someone removing body parts or hooking up a tow.

Motion sensors are not the answer for this kind of issue... and will bring you far more problems than what it solves: as a previous poster noted, they will go off for anything and will be really obnoxious, mainly to yourself.

To answer your question more properly: no idea if it can be wired in directly or not.

Good luck!
C.

you guys don't think that a chirp when you get to close to the car will deter someone who is planning to key the car in an open crowded parking lot during the day?

Two options ---
Wire shock/motion sensor in series with hood switch, or go with aftermarket alarm.
