I have a Sirius Receiver connected to a Clarion VRX935VD in dash motorized 7" monitor w/DVD player. Sirius Satellite has great programming and very good sound quality. I don't listen to regular FM radio anymore...

For thoes that are brave enough to disassemble their dash there is room in there to hide the antenna. Not perfect reception but as good as one should expect for it being inside the car. It loses signal just a bit more then the antennna on top of my 4Runner does.

Dr. Bonz & Others....
How is XM with the stock Bose system?
My only concern was that it is FM Modulated, which means it is only as good as your radio isnt it??? or am I wrong?
I know the bose CD is very good sounding in my touring, but the radio is only OK.... Is this a problem for XM or Sirius????
Thanks

My XM is FM modulated but it really sounds pretty damn good. When I first got it, there was hardly ANY commercials. I hear that they have started to go to more and more commercials. I can't say for sure yet since I have my Z stored away for the winter and haven't heard it since early December. The programming choices are endless. There is EVERY kind of music you could ever imagine along with talk radio, sports, comedy, etc. One of my favs is the XM comedy channel that runs clips from comic acts 24/7. Classics like Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Robert Klein, Robin Williams, Red Fox etc. It is really cool.

only difference in service from what i've seen (and what my XM rep has told me) is that there are more repeaters around the country. i can attest to this being true because there used to be places i'd break up predictably that are just fine now, including way out from urban areas.

I just put the Delphi unit in my Nav area via FM modulator.... I couldn't be happier. I also bought the home kit at the same time. My theory on the matter is, I do the critical music listening home most of the time on my higher end stereo system. The FM mod is good enough for the car. I think it sounds better than any FM station I get here in Central Jersey.
I would recommend the Delphi unit to anyone in a heartbeat. It fits perfectly into the Nav Comp. and works well. Also my car is leased, so I didn't want to sink the big $$$ into it anyways....

The comment that said that Xm had better broadcast quality. Is this a reference to sound quality because in that case sirius takes the cake. They use SPlex technology that XM decided to forgo in order to offer there service slightly cheaper. This allows all the unused bandwith for the station you are not listening to to be converted to the station you are listening to. Becuase of this XM stations load quicker but has slightly inferior sound quality. Although both sound good compared to FM. I work at a car stereo shop and listen to the two all day long. I prefer Sirius based on programming alone I like the stations better but that is a personal prefernce. Just my $0.02 on the whole thing. Also for anyone considering wheter they want satelite radio go ahead and get it you will not regret it.
