Living in metro atlanta there are certain places that set the V1 off every time exactly the same. Over time I've learned where all these places are. The problem for me is every damned cop in atlanta uses laser now and thats a *****.

I purchased a RMR C430 on 3/15/03, after a week of trial I went to return the unit for a refund. I was denied a refund of $239.00. I bought a Valentine1 and I am very pleased with it. If anyone is interestred in a new RMR for a real good price let me know..

Okay people, I have been doing some mad research into the whole which is the best detector and I have heard many things, from many sources. Still not 100% sure... but I found this and fromt he stats shown, granted, their own stats, this seems to be the best. Definately the best for the money though.... only $244 and that includes 2 day shipping!

It's called the Phantom 4 or the RMR-C410

They even cover your tickets inside a year. They cover you 360 degrees plus the front 180 degrees is a jammer as well so they can't lock you before you slow down.

I can see a purchase down the road.... hmmm....

your thoughts?

In the U.K. GPS detectors are taking over from radar/laser detectors. They are extremly accurate & give no false alarms. We have many more fixed sites (gatso / truvelo & specs) than mobile.I have just purchased a Road Angel which I am delighted with, it also has laser detection so I am covered for everything plod can throw at me.Every month or so I plug it into my P.C. to download any new sites that have been put on the database. Not cheap at £400 but what price can you put on a lost licence!

Suppose, heaven forbid, the V1 fails. What happens if you get pulled over and the cop sees your radar detector? Say in Los Angeles? Thanks.

Thumbs up Valentine 1

I have had several radar detectors and some ended up in a garage sales.
I did a side by side test with the Escort Passport 8500 and Valentine 1 before their return policy ran out.
I keep the Valentine.
I also use a police scanner to see if their are any wolf packs on the highways talking. That saved me one time when the state police were using a laser gun on an overpass shooting cars from behind when you drove under it.
