My little setup with CF speaker pods
Hello everyone. Here's my little setup. Please feel free to comment.
Alpine 9835 deck
Alpine KCA-420i (ipod adapter)
Infinity Reference 7541a 4-chan. Amp
Infinity Reference 311a Sub Amp
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Component speakers
Infinity Kappa 63.7i rear speakers
Infinity Kappa Perfect 10DVQ 10" Sub
I'm still thinking of installing the Alpine SBS-05DC center channel speaker, but I need to save a little $$ for another amp to make that bad boy work properly. I bought the unfinished speaker pods from Nazar at Wikidcass(I think that's how you spell it). I really didn't like the quality of it. Pieces were breaking off and the speaker did not fit at first. I called him about it and he told me to sand it down. Sanding would take forever so I dremelled it down. Then I sent it to Tony (member: tonester1011) to wrap it with carbon fiber. I really liked his work. I liked it so much that I'm sending him me center consol (arm area) to wrap it. After he wrapped it the pods really looked money. Nazar also can wrap the pods in a vinyl and it looks pretty good. I def recommend if you purchase those get it vinyled at least. However, I think it is well worth it to send it to Tony. I bought the bose sub cover for the car for about $20. Sorry for the long story.... and I hope you likes.

Looks good man, question though...
Did you choose to go with the CF speaker pods out of personal preference or would the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's have fit with just a 1" mounting ring? I'm trying to do some research before I buy the components to my new audio system...
Thanks in advance!

My Kappa Perfect 6.1's fit inside the door panel just fine - I used 1.25" worth of spacer and off-set the hole forward and down about a half an inch. I'm forever kicking the naked door panels with my big feet so I'd have a door pod beat-up and broken off in short time.

Thanks again to everyone.

We never looked into that option. I thought it would need more than that. I just looked into the pods right away. The installer never brought that option up. Maybe he wasn't knowledgable in that... for some reason. Yes, the pods can be a pain when getting in and out of the car. I love the sound and the look, though.

Yes. Just buy the cover for it and replace it. The inside is all ready to go. There's a metal bracket there ready for the sub. It surprised me.

I'll try to pull the cover I have on now off and take a pic some time this week if you'd like.
Good luck on your setup.

Thanks for this post Kaue. I was looking to do something exactly like this starting with the woofer. I enjoy the stock speakers but was having issues with the quality of the woofer (something I find Bose is notorious for is not enough bass).
I'm glad I can fit a new woofer in the stock area without sacrificing my "trunk" space.
May put the amp in a different place though.
Do you think I can run just the sub amp with the woofer and still be happy with the amount of bass that comes from it?
