Question clarion max675vd or panasonic cq-vd6503u

hi everybody, i am a new owner, and i thinking of installing one of this two HUs.
clarion max675vd or panasonic cq-vd6503u there is not much on these two on the internet, and i have searched these boards, with only brief comments on both. so some input would be greatly appreciated. another thing, i was curios about is whether with the clarion and its motorized face plate moving all the way
down when you insert a dvd or cd, will it hit the gear shift when in park? i have an AT here is a pic. of what i am asking. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wSTNfpw...&display=L#Tab . i have seen the panasonic and it doesn't interfere due to it not moving all the way down. again impute would be greatly appreciated.

I like the clarion unit but if you are interested in the NAV at all its another 650 atleast for the additional unit which makes this unit insanely spendy when all said and done, actually its right there under the accessories tab, another 1000 bucks, so in all a 2000 HU!! You can get the top of the line alpine or eclipse for 1650. I think you might be happier with a kenwood, alpine, or pioneer unit.

As far as it hitting no idea but Im assuming it wont considering there are numerous people running this sort of HU.

wow quick reply thanks. well my price range is about 600-700 and i can get both of these for about that much. i am not going to add any NAV or any thing else. maybe some speakers and a sub. just really want something to pass the time with the women while waiting in line in traffic and such.

bigme100,,,,with your price range,,you are very, very close to the price of the Alpine W-200. I have the W-200 and love it.....Although, the pioneer's, Eclipse's and such are very nice as well,,,but for your budget and the price of the Alpine,,,I would go that route....Just my opinion...if you have any questions about the Alpine W-200,,,PM me, I will be glad to help.

don't think a motorized faceplate will come close to hitting the shift ****, but I have a Manual...

thanks for the replys, and the advise. i decided to go with neither of them, and went instead with the Alpine IVA-W200. i know it is a little over my original budget, but i feel that i will be happier with this HU due to the cleaner look and options available. thanks again. these forums are great.

I am now a proud owner of a 350z, I got it from the US (medford, Oregon) I would like to change the digital info into KM, instead of miles. The anologue speedometer is OK, but the total miles and the smaill readout on the dash, I would prefer to see km, anyone, any ideas on how to change it.
