03 Bose Owners w/ Aftermarket Headunit I have a qucik question for you...
I'm looking at purchasing the Alpine CDA-9856 headunit w/ the iPod Control cable. Of course I'm going through Crutchfield as I've always have in the past. I contacted tham and said it is a direct install w/ the wiring harness to the factory harness. I do not need to worry about any power cable installs or rewiring w/ the Bose unit. If I add aftermarket speakers than I will need to remove the Bose amps and etc... Is this correct?

i don't think the bose speakers will work with your new head unit..... because the way the bose wiring is...it's totally different. i know because i tried to do the same thing. there might be an adapter but i doubt it. it's best to just get the pac ipod adapter to save some money. or just redo the whole system to get better sound quality.
There is an adapter.... http://www.pac-audio.com/oem1kits/ao...or+AOEM-1+kits
Thats the adapter to put in an aftermarket amp. To put in an Aftermarket headunit you need this one. http://www.pac-audio.com/oem1kits/ro...or+ROEM-1+kits
