Default e brake bypass

Has anyone been able to figure out how to get the factory Nav to work without having to stop and apply the emergency brake?

i didnt know you needed the ebrake on to prog nav. i have a 2k2 maxima wiht nav and you have to be going under 5mph. my roomate just had aftermarket installed in his lexus though and they had to wire it to the ebrake. there was a wire connected to a harness in the ebrake. we had to undo it and ground it. took about 5 mins.

maybe I am using the system wrong (only had the car 1 week and the wife has had it most of that time), but it won't let you enter in a destination with out pulling over and putting on the parking brake. I know on the IS300's you can ground it instead of wiring to the parking brake, just wondering if anyone here had done that to a 350Z. I guess from the sounds of it, no one has. I will be starting my install next weekend and will look into it and post results, if any.

I know you arent legally allowed to accept input while the car is moving, but I thought you just had to stop, never heard the ebrake was required as well...
