can't fit that in a z

the regular MTX 9500 in 12" or 15" crack the cones when powered a bit

the specs say 1000 watts rms not peak ,then under that line it says but we reccomend rms power between 500 - 1000 rms

all that hype and you can't give any real power

my t2 subs from rockford say 1000 rms 2000 peak

i drive mine with 10% more than peak power and no issues

anyone else no of a sub that handles more than it's peak power safely and always

My alpine Type-X 10" is 1000rms and 3000 peak. And it hits hard in a Z

That Jackhammer is insane. wieghts 300lbs. No one needs that kind of wieght in a Z.

Here is a picture i found on the net of a subwoofer

The Jackhammer is a showpiece .. no more. They essentially scaled up a driver (3x size) ... really nothing awesome ... just a whole lot of tooling dollars and a driver that they cannot sell.

that jackhammer 22" sub is a marketing tool
nothing more

look at it this way

someone searching for sound quality would not use that
someone going for spl would not either because 1 of those puts you in the
19"-24" class and it is still just 22" of cone and not easy to install or work with or pay for

so it is a coversation piece for a sema show

I gotta throw my sponsor in the ring here too

I have never once met a person that didn't like the way a JBL GTi subwoofer sounded.

I'll still say that Pioneer's TS-W12PRS is the best sub I have heard in a car though.

I had 2 12" Power Acoustik (**** Series subs) In my Xterra. Those things are pretty nasty. Not that expensive either.

at least you don't have to worry about anyone trying to break in to your car and stealing the sub.

for amps on a budget the power acoustic mono block either 2000 or 2500, gotta check their site , i think is alot of power and cheap , for lows , for highs get a rockford , you can get a p4504 cheap 75 watts x 4 @ 4ohms or 125 watts x 4 @ 2 ohms clean power

my buddy that i see out at the spl shows has a 4 dr civic with 2 each 15" kickers , in a sealed enclosure , 148 db outlaw 26" to 30" trunk , and he pushes them with that power acoustik

dvd pioneer avh5700dvd is $600 new din size
if you want double din the panasonic is about $700

nice units

subs

if you want square go Kicker l5 or l7

if you want round go Rf P3 or T1
