Here is what I did. I removed the radio and center console, mounted the pa11-nis box with some 3M double sided tape (trim adhesive, really sticky stuff) under the hvac control box, which is just under the radio. I decided on using playlist mode and cant change it now, but I wanted the install to be completely out of site. There is enough wire there to mount it somewhere accessible if you think you will ever want to change the settings on it. The supplied harness plugs into the stock radio plugs so no wiring is really needed. I ran the ipod wire back to the rear center console compartment, made a hole in the rear and ran that wire. It requires a 3/4 inch hole large enough for the ipod wire to feed through, not the ipod end but the end that plugs into the pa11-nis. It was really a pretty easy install.

When I first turned the radio on, I noticed that the radio was making some strange noises, like it was reprogramming itsself. It worked with the ipod adaptor for about a minute and shut off. At that point i thought I had fried something, but I unplugged the radio and plugged it back in and it started working fine again.

I can't say for the bose radio, but the easiest way to tell is to remove the radio and check for the 12 pin plug. if you have that then it should work.

I think so, since it uses the CD changer connector on the back of the radio. are you referring to an indash 6 disc or an external cd changer?

On my 06 Touring Roadster (with Bose unit), I have the indash 6 disc CD changer. I wouldn't want to lose my CD functionality to gain iPod use, but actually, if that were the case, it wouldn't be a bad tradeoff...

I will update with some pics later...
Chiming in a little late here, but thanks 06blueZ for the confirmation on the pa11-nis! This is my next mod...

No, you don't lose ur cd function. You press the "cd" button once, it goes to ur iPod. Press it again, it changes to your cd. I don't have the bose system either.

I think the FM transmitters are cheap. This one connects digitally to your stock system so the quality is perfect. If you listen to your radio now, vs. some CDs, you can hear a difference, same deal.

These don't sound very good - they have limited bandwidth and are subject to interference.

I have an 06' base non-bose and the pas11-nis works fine. I routed the cable from the head unit to the pas unit thought the center console then under the seat. So I have access to the dip switches if I ever wanted to change modes.

For now I have the cable from pas unit to the ipod coming up from behind the passenger seat where my ipod sits in the cupholder since I'm using direct mode. Works great sound good, well as good as the non-bose stereo can sound.

BTW I bought this off of ebay for $114 shipped.

Default Found a better price

Found a cheaper price for the USA Spec PA11NIS adapter for the Z and will be installing it in my 2004 Roadster with the Bose unit (no Nav or satalite). I'll let everyone know how it turns out. I bought the unit for $103.03 + $9.99 shpg for a total $113.02 out the door. Check out their website:

www.kiosk2click.com

Incidently, I sent an E-mail to USA Spec asking about the compatability of their product and the PA11NIS is compatible with my car's Bose system according to them.
