I think I'm going this route on my G35:

Anybody else install the Nissan OEM Ipod Adapter?
you can install the one I used (which is the one this thread is about) anywhere from the glove compartment to the center console. I only have mine out in the open because I like keeping it convenient for changing artists.

I bought the line amp to boost the input from my iPod because when using the line-in from the bottom of the iPod the music is not loud enough sometimes. I prefer not using SoundCheck because 95% of the songs I have in my library are DECREASED by 5-16db and defeats the purpose. I import everything at 192K or 256K so yes I like clean detailed audio, even while listening the shred-metal or rock. I have over 1500 CDs so ripping high quality music to the iPod is not a factor. I have purchased maybe 2 whole CDs worth of music from iTunes because of the poor quality (128k ).

I listen to most stuff at 18-22 volume on the Bose head unit. Without the line amp when listening to music through my iPod I have to turn the volume up to 27-29 to get the same volume level. At this volume the head unit is starting to get pretty distorted and in between songs the hiss/line noise is loud and annoying. Using the line amp to balance the audio so that the CD player and iPod are at the same volume also adds some distortion and hiss to the audio as well.

I just wish I could find one stand-alone device that would play music back at a loud-ish volume and not impart so much line noise. I know my best alternative would be to scrap the Bose system and get a new head, amps, and speakers. I was hoping to save some money though. I guess I'll wait for the 2nd gen Harman/Kardon drive+play. Maybe this will be the fix I'm looking for

forgive me if this has been answered....

I searched on the link from post 1....all that came up for the 2007 was icarplay. I then searched for 2006 and got the PA11-NIS. This part has been tested by members on the 07 nonbose succesfully, correct?

Just to let everyone know that I just installed the PA11-NIS on my 2006 base Z today, it was an easy install and it sounds a whole lot better than the the old FM transmitter I have.
I got it off kiosk2click.com for like a 100 something.

Default Will it work on 2007 Models?

I just bought a 2007 Touring Coupe (no navigation) and want to install the PA11-NIS but, the website does not list it as compatible with '07 models. My understanding was that the stock Bose stereo on the '07 models was the same as the '06 models.

Will it work with my '07 Touring non navi?

Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick,
Not sure if PA11-NIS would work on the 07' but I had a hard time finding an item that said it worked for our 07', appears there are some changes. Anyways, here is a link to what I finally found and purchased:
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-builds/291691-2007-ipod-install-o-axxess-interface.html
Good luck, its taking some time for anything to come out on the 07'. Been waiting and waiting for engine performance parts. But still made the best decision by going for an 07, Incredible car.

I am confused.....maybe because it is late. In this thread, I see talk about the PA11-NIS. I searched the link in the first post and only found PODNISV2. I am assuming they made some changes and renamed it? Am I correct?

Just wanted to drop a quick FYI- This doesn't work on the 07 with Navi/Bose system. Not sure if it's because of the bluetooth or what, but the head unit does not have the sat port in the back. So you are able to feed it power but not able to do anything else. I just got it and try it out, which i should have pulled the radio out before doing that.

Well good luck, i'll keep looking around as well in case something works...
Sorry this makes no sense?
I have 07 with Nav & Bose & I have satellite plug bottom right side.
In fact I'm having mine installed today. PAC AAI-NIS2 which is diiferent then this thread.
One mention in this thread u lose out on the satellite radio & I want my Sirius radio!

I only paid $82.00 shipped from a Ebay seller.

Update: AAI-NIS2 is not compatible with 07 Z if u want your Sirius or XM?
Turns out I had Stereo Shop install A FM Modulator & my ipod sounds great!
Cost me $75.00 for modulator + $50.00 for install.

Well, my birthday is in a week so I want to pull the trigger on this purchase in the next day or two. This is basically my last attempt to see if anyone knows more about the PODNISV2?
