DDX-6019 ipod connector
I ran my ipod up into the cubby....I have an 06 and the Alpine W-200. When you remove the rubber type mat on the bottom of the cubby,,,there is a small hole on the back bottom..actually, on both right and left sides...I used a drill bit,,,enlarged the hole just a little,,ran the cable there. Then, all I have to do is plug my ipod in there and it rest nice and hidden in the cubby. Plus, easy access if I need to take it out to add more songs, ect. ect.
Been noticing that my cubby gets mighty hot with the heat going. I've put my phone and earpiece in there and they get hot/warm but with no prob. Do you see any prob with the Ipod and heat there??? BTW - this does sound like a great place for the Ipod. How about velcro-ing it to the back so as to utilize the space more efficiently.
I havent noticed any heat problem at all. I keep my Ipod, W-200 remote and breath mints in my cubby..(for those late night get aways..<G>) It is was anywhere near too warm,,the breath mints would melt...
Now for the velcro,,I can tell you,,,when you plug in your Ipod,,,you have to be careful moving it around, for you dont want to crack/break the plug, or loosen up the plug of the Ipod...I thought about the velcro idea,,,but the thickness of the Ipod cable keeps down the mobility of the Ipod..I just lay it down flat so there is no strain on the plug/cable, nor Ipod connect...I hope this makes sense....Had a few beers here,,,Georgia bulldogs/VA. I ran my cable along the center counsel and dremeled out a hole in the front of the armrest cubby (so you cant see the hole) and can just plug in the ipod and leave it hidden under the armrest (and can still use the cupholders to store my pens and remote for the HU).
