Default jl audio question

I think I am gonna go all JL Audio.

Does the Vr comes in 6.5?

And will they all fit in the stock location with no extra pods or anything?

And What Jl should i use for the rears?

check out their website. They list all the speakers and sizes. www.jlaudio.com

I'm not 100% sure if those would fit in the front but I do know that the front mounts are VERY shallow, so chances are with any good speakers that is not specifically designed to be shallow, you will need to get a set of door pods or at least a spacer.

Well a spacer would be fine. I just dont want to cut a hole in the door panel for the speaker pod.

On tweater will they fit or if i need a pod will i have to cut any of the stock pod or does it replace it completely?

you should be able to fit the tweeter in the stock location, however depending on what speaker you get the tweeter size can vary so you may need to cut the hole bigger to mount a bigger tweeter.

Hmm okay, that might work, but if i get a aftermarket pod that just replace the whole stock pod right?

if you do a search in the audio section for door pods, there are tons of pictures to give you ideas of what they look like. I would still recommend getting pods even if the speakers fit in the doors just because they will sound much better

But for the door panel speaker you have to cut the door panel, I dont want to do that. I want to keep stock look. If i have to i will replace the pod for the tweeter but thats it.

Is the XR worth the extra money over the VR?

for the jl tweeter u definitely have to make the hole in the pod bigger..its easy cuz they come with a little trim ring that goes around the tweeter so it look clean as hell. im not sure how the speakers fit in the door cuz i got fg door panles that hole 2 in the bottoms of the door, a 6" and 5 1/4"
