I don't think I saw a firm answer on the question about the V1 unit location...it's still mounted on a visor, windshield or somewhere in the car, right?
You're not eliminating the need to keep the unit in the car, powered and with a direct line of sight to front/rear...or please correct me if I'm wrong.

I assume the autodimming feature still functions? Why did they get rid of the compass anyway? Wondering how much ya charge to do this, im itchin for a V1.

 

Nope, the unit itself still needs a line of sight to the rear and front of the vehicle. I always recommend people to mount it like in this write up.

That's how I have mine mounted, works great.


Autodimming still functions like normal. They didn't get "rid" of the compass. Its an upgrade you can order from Nissan. They make compasses with and without the compass.
