Default Any thoughts on a refurbished Kenwood DDX-7017?

Hi I recently purched a 2004 PPW Enthusiast and after driving the car for less than a week, I'm ready to switch out the stock stereo for something better.

I've been doing my reading on here and it looks like I'm sold on getting a double din head unit to fill the space. I came across a Kenwood DDX 7017 for $489 plus shipping from here:
http://www.salectronics.com/detail.a...t_id=DDX7017RB

The ad lists the head unit as:
Completely refurbished by Kenwood!
Complete and sealed in Factory Box with manual, remote, harness and mounting hardware.

This sounds like a great deal, but my only concern is that it's a refurbished model.

Any thoughts on this? Also, has anybody purchased from these people before?

Thanks!

I've bought many things refurbished. With complex electronics there is always going to be a return factor - broken hardware or consumers not smart enough to operate the device. Factory technicians inspect and repair the item and it's sold as refurbished often with the same warranty as brand new. Judge how much you're saving over brand new and make a judgement call.

If you desire SQ, then 5V pre-outs are a must. The unit you are looking at only have 2V pre-outs.

Well I did a little a research and looked like the owner of the saletronics.com website was a former 350Z owner that you used to post regularly on another 350Z website.

I'm still on the fence about this headunit. It's a great price, but I'm not sure if I need all those features.

I did find a used Sony WX-7700MDX for sale on ebay for $345. The only problem is the seller is in Japan and the shipping costs is around $80.
