Sorry to say this, but who ever is telling you this has no clue about car stereos. The main reason you cannot put it in the upper cubby is basically because it will not fit. I do not even know how sound quality even gets mentioned.

I don't see how installing it in the cubby will make a difference in the sound quality. Installing it there would be a custom install and take up a lot more time than just putting it where the factory radio is.

The people at Car Toys said something about "relays"??? Do a lot of people have aftermarket NAV/DVD in the cubby compartment?

I think there are serveral people in this forum with monitors in their cubby but I don't know about having a radio in the cubby. Sounds like to me they just don't want to deal with that kind of custom install.

I used to have my standalone Garmin nav in the cubby, but have since put a screen in there instead.

The DNX7100 doesnt fit in the cubby compartment??? I would not like having a to look down so low at a NAV screen where the stock radio is. The cubby compartment is higher and at a better angle for NAV.

So by any chance does anyone else use the bluetooth with thier 7100 and if so which phones have you used with it and how was the result? Particularly wonderring about how well it "Auto-synced" when you got into the car, and whether you were able to utilize any of the voice tags or other advanced features?

How updated is the Nav it comes with? Can it play DVD's?? How many disks does it hold? I am considering a Pioneer 6800 right now but since this has Nav also I may pick this up.

This was already partially answered above. I haven't used mine to do any sort of voice dialing, but otherwise it works great.

I know this was asked somewhere in here, regarding the Hub for usb...

Yes you can do a hub upto 4 USB connections.

Dis you know you can also charge your cell phone withe the USB cable if you have a Cell [hone to USB adapter...

you can even hook up a USB Road light or any other usb device.

This is freakin awesome! Glad I know about this now... I might add this to the list during the install.

Thanks for sharing!

Many do, but I couldn't say that all do. You can also grab it off Ebay.

It's not really about better. The 200 cable will work for all the ipods. The 300 cable works with the ipod video only.

What happens when you use the 300 cable with the non-video ipods?

Thanks,

You can change the angle of the screen so keep that in mind also.
