To change the wallpaper, upload pics in a .jpg format to a USB drive and load it from there

the 255 limit has got to be due to memory and probably is a folder limitation.

I'll try this some time this week and report back

but strange thing tho.. my ipod won't work with the ipod cable right? b4 it didn't work as a usb drive.. like i can play the songs, but i had no control over them.. can't skip tracks or anything like that.. I just tried it this morning.. and i was able to skip tracks and choose folders... very strange.. but it works now.. so i'm happy

is there a way to make it play random across multiple folders?

Does anyone know why it won't let me select navigation in the menu where all the icons are? I have to press the Nav button to get to the GPS.

Also has anyone been able to route the navigation sound through the rear speakers? As far as I can tell it doesnt let you do that.

After you use the nav the first time, it should let you choose it from the main menu from there out.

It will only let you use the front speakers for the nav. I mute it anyway.

Ive noticed that some people will run the GPS antenna to the rear strut bar and put it under the plastic. I found the easiest way to install it and hide it. I just taped mine to the plastic on the inside of the center console right behind the gauge cluster. It works there and is very easy to install and will never be seen.

You actually have to turn that on as a source in the set up of the unit. The problem with going to Navigation using the source icon is that you will not be able to listen to another source and display Navigation. Hope this makes sense. The ideal way to do it is using the Navigation button, that way you can still listen to whatever source you currently are on.

Has anyone tried the SD slot to upload backgroud pics?

Also, has anyone connected the bluetooth adapter and reverse cam if so, where to you place your bluetooth box and how did you run your wire for the cam?

I will be installing mine this weekend and I am just trying to get some ideas.

The SD slot is for nav only as far as I know.

I have the bluetooth and reverse cam in my Z. The BT box is in the stock sub location. My backup cam is inside the car, so I didn't have to run any wires outside.

seriously considering this unit... is it possible to upload new backgrounds through the Ipod? i read that you need to get backgrounds onto the unit via the USB port but if the ipod is plugged into that i dont imagine it would be too easy to get behind and "swap" the plug just to put a picture on there. Any info would be great. Thanks.

All you do is unplug the Ipod to put the wallpaper on then plug the Ipod back in when you're done. You can upload a maximum of 3 pics to the unit.

but do you have to unload the ipod from the back of the unit or from the ipod possibly located in the armrest? trying to figure out the ease of this.

Well the Ipod cable is quite long, so I think you should be able to make sure you have access to the USB whenever you need it.

The adaptor you need is SWIALP made by PAC. This will let you interface directly into both the car and headunit.
