Bose sub, 1 ohm?
I posted a thread before trying to find out the impedance of the Bose sub to see if I could just swap out the sub and keep the amp. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=25726
I found a useful site that showed how to determine the impedance of a speaker using a multimeter. http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/vomillia.htm
To make sure I was doing the reading correctly, I used the multimeter on an old speaker I had laying around that had a rating of 4 ohms. I got a reading of 3.4 on the multimeter, which according to that site, should be accurate.
I then took a reading of the Bose sub and came up with readings around .6-.7. Is it safe to assume that the impedance of the sub is 1 ohm? If so, what would be the result of putting in a new sub rated at 4 ohms?

I know this is an old thread, but if I didn't post here people would yell to use the search function.
I am planning on replacing the sub woofer, but keeping the stock amplifier.
I figured I would post here to let people know what they have to do.
First off the sub is rated for 1/2 Ohm. So using a 4 ohms sub would deliver almost no power.
Also the enclosure is IB which is infinite baffle. From my past in competing in audio comps I know that Image Dynamics makes a great IB subwoofer. I will be replacing the stock sub soon with an ID10D2 this sub will be wired to 1 ohm. I will post with updates.
Has anyone else tried this yet?
