Zenclosures 1 or 2 tens? is 2 too much?
Looking to get the dual zenclosure this week or next does anyone have this box with 2 kicker compVRs? im curious if the volume of the box is big enough for the speakers to hit well. and also anyone that has two 10s is it enough or too much sound for a small car? thanks a bunch guys

only reason i ask about the compVRs is because i had them in my maxima and loved them the min sealed box volume for them is .86 cu ft and the zenclosure is .67 or something like that for both sides. any suggestions on speakers would be great too thanks
i run two kicker comps in a Z enclosure. I have a kicker amp so it helps with the lack of air space (sounds clear) but i can tell the subs have problems picking up the low notes. I filled the majority of the box with cotten to help even out for the lack of air space. It helped dramatically, but it didtn work miracles. They will sound good, but not like the maxima with a bigger trunk and box.
I put a sub behind the seat also, so that makes 3 10s for me. Depending on your taste it can become overwhelming, so i installed a JL Audio bass **** which will adjust the bass to all different levels. (from off to all the way up) It is like an upgraded cross-over and works beautifully.

The Z enclosure fitment is nothing short of perfect. Once you recieve your box it will slide under the strut bar with no other modifications. So to answer your question, it stays snug under there without any other adjustments. Once you slide it in there you wont have to touch it again.
Mad props to the designer of this box, you did one hell of a job putting this thing together.

That's a 16% decrease in space. I'm no expert either, but I think that is a significant difference. I would wonder if the suggested box sizes take into account the effect placement and car interior space have on the performance of the sub. Anechoic chambers for measuring a sub's performance is nice, but I would think things change drastically once you "seal" a sub and box in a car.
I voted 1.
I went from 2 Image Dynamics IDQ10's to a single JL Audio 10W7. I'm much happier with the W7.
It seems to hit quite a bit harder and louder than the 2 IDQ's.
To be fair though, I also changed amps...

Where are you getting .67 cuft from? Are you talking the zenclosure box with amp rack?? Thats .70 cuft per chamber ....check below.

I'm using 2 FI Q subs (1000rms per sub) which like .2-.6 cuft sealed which is perfect for this box! See below.........

And then I've even modified my Zenclosure box with some bracing to handle 900 to 1000 on each side! See below.......

So this box will hit the low notes with the right subwoofer that is made for small enclosures. You just have to do your research!

I'm running a single 10" many of you would describe it as "crap" Pioneer TSW256DVC, along with a Pioneer amp GM-7200 and it is waaaaaayyyyyy more than I need. It hits nice, but doesn't drown out the music. IMO single 10 whatever you go with should be fine, but do what makes you feel good.

I bough the zenclosure box that fits two, and will be putting fosgate punch phase 2's in there w/ a fosgate 450.2 amp. It should be more than I need... I am going for the look of the speaker pic posted above. LOOKING GOOD UP THERE!!!
Would 630rms @ 2ohms be too little to drive a JL10-w6. They are stupid ohmages arnt they, as at 3ohms the 630wrms would drop to like 475 ish, too little for the 10-w6 to hit hard
probably going for a dual with 2x JL 10w3v3's, 315wrms a side. . .perfeick!

you can make up for some of the lost airspace by adding cotten to the inside of the box. This will cause the sub to pull harder on the air available, instead of being flooded with it. Old school trick, see if it works, i bet it will shock you.
