Default Zenclosure dual FI Q' sub install finally finished!

After last week getting the flu and this week it turns into bronchitis I still have managed to brace my sub box, put in binding post terminals, and mount and wire my subs for 1000 wrms each @ 2 ohms and install the box in my Z! Damn I'm tired.....that sucker weighs 86lbs!

Theres some EXCURSION room with those surround rubbers!!!LOL!

Tomorrow I mount the Kicker KX2500.1 amp on the amp rack!

SLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW but SURE!

Thats where I got them. I had to taper the inside mount plates to a spear like point to get them to fit between the subs since they are so big. That is why they are diagonally mounted.

Sony WX-7700MDX Head Unit.

Made and sold in Japan and Honk Kong by Sony. Not released in the U.S.A.
Actually its around a 4 year old HU but looks great in the Z. I was told it was actually a optional HU in Japan for the Z.
You can buy a worldwide version (ie will work with US radio stations) from sunlightltd in Hong Kong here.....

Hope this helps.......

Yep....those grills where a Bi.....tich! Did you put spacers under your grills? Your surrounds look as large as mine so you should have some major excursion. I have 3/4" from the top of the surround "bubble" to the grill crossbar. Scott, who owns FI subs, gave me that spec. Scott by the way engineered RE subs, then broke away from RE Audio to start his own company FI Audio in Las Vegas. GREAT guy! I almost got the RE's till I found FI.
Nice setup. What model RE subs did you get? What are the US amps rated at?

i got the SE Subs... didn't think of spacers... now i am a little worried... i have the Merlin MD1D (750 watts @ 2 ohm) for the sub and Merlin MD23 (300 watts in 4 ohm) for the front components and tweets.

Did your buddy have the "Q" or the "BTL" model ... the BTL is the one the intraweb fanboys went googoo over and ended up not sounding so hot and then mass dumping followed (they now obsess over 10yr old blown DD subs )

The Q is actually a pretty nice sounding sub (especially those 10s).

Why did you feel you needed the bracing inside?
