Default OEM Sirius Install

I personally installed the OEM Sirius tuner in my 2007 350z touring. Everything works great. Nissan and the dealerships kept telling me it was not possible to install the tuner outside of the factory and have it fully integrated. The touring is pre-wired and the Bose 6Cd is compatible (a must). Everything is fully integrated all I needed was the tuner and the antenna.

Bullzac,

This is exactly the problem I am having with getting info from the Nissan dealership and factory. I just took delivery last Mon Jul 2 on a 07 GT 6spd MT with DVD NAV system and the Bose 6-CD changer stereo. I factory-ordered this car back in March and it just arrived last week. However, Nissan does not offer a factory installed option of both the SAT NAV and the SAT RADIO in the Z at the same time. Not understanding why this would be a problem, I have checked with various tech personnel. They told me that the SAT NAV system uses the flexible radio antenna for receiving the GPS signals and I knew of course that the SAT RADIO uses the rooftop receiver pod. So there should be no interference with a factory installed SAT RADIO antenna mounted on the roof with the regular radio antenna. Previously I had a 06 Touring 6sp MT with the Sirius radio factory-installed, but it did not have the SAT NAV system.

So I am very interested that you were able to get a factory type XM head unit and a factory satellite roof antenna installed after you took delivery of your Z. Congratulations for perservering in getting it done. Since Nissan makes a point of claiming that the Touring and Grand Touring models come 'pre-wired' for satellite radio reception, I am looking into buying the factory Sirius head unit and the factory roof top satellite receiver pod and doing what the factory (or the dealership) says they can't do - install SAT RADIO in my Z and have it work through the BOSE front end tuner controls and not interfer with the SAT NAV reception.

Any tips or details you might care to provide on doing your installation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

oh no not a 'roof pod'

I installed Sirius on my 07 and put the antenna under the dash up front and works great. Had to change the HU but wanted a better unit with USB so I had too anyway.

My dealer in Tucson wanted $900 to install the Sirius kit to my pre-wired Bose.
