Default My radio is REALLY low in volume argggg

We just finished my Elemental design install with my buddy david. Everything is fine other than my right passenger window hitting the speaker magnet and my radio being barely audible . The sound is working fine on the CD player but when I switch on the radio I can barely hear anything if at all. I checked all frequencies and the sound is VERY low and reception is terrible. Anyone know what might cause this?

Pooplet,,,,Along with your Antenna plug/jack, you also have the antenna amp wire that needs to be connected. It does correct your problems. I did the same thing installing my Alpine W-200. After reading here, I took my dash back apart connected the antenna amp wires and BAM,,,great reception. I think the wire is Blue/white,,,,it has been about 8mths ago.
I hope this helps

Connect the blue wire on the back of the H/U to the radio harness.

Are you using the factory radio or aftermarket? If you are using an aftermarket then the wire is blue off the radio and blue on the harness. This is commonly known as the remote amp turn on wire. Some radios have two wires, one for the antenna amp and one for the remote turn on. All wires are blue. Not sure on the stock harness though. If you are using the stock headunit this wire should be plugged into the headunit and it should be working.

the remote turn on wire (blue) is turning on my amps, ill probably just splice the antenna amp into the ACC wire.

I just did this after two months of getting pissed at my head unit for crappy reception and it works like a charm. I was not even able to listen to Am before because I had a lound audible beep and now it is gone.

See noobs the search does work.!!!
