Question iPod solution for 2006 350Z

Hello,

Please forgive me for asking this question, because I know a lot of threads have been made about iPod connectivity issues with the 350Z, but after reading as many as I could find that seemed to pertain to my situation, I am still confused. So here we go...

I have a 2006 coupe Touring 350Z with the Bose stereo and navigation system. The stereo does not have a "satellite" button on the front and does not play SIRIUS satellite radio (I take it this means it's "non-SAT"...?). Everything is exactly as it came from the factory. With that in mind I've been searching for an integrated iPod solution that will work with my Z. From what I've read, it appears that the USA Spec PA11-NIS iPod interface may be what I am looking for:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-y3hInf8...&pg=1&sortBy=3

However, I keep reading conflicting reports about whether or not it will work with a 2006 Z with the Bose audio, no satellite functionality, and navigation. If anyone here has bought this product and successfully installed it on their 2006 Z with Bose/DVD nav/no satellite button on the front, please let me know, because I am terribly confused and don't want to buy a product that won't work.

Again, I apologize if this has already been answered but after numerous searches I can't seem to find a straight answer. Thanks in advance for any help

that essentially looks like the model that should work for you. If you go wrong I'm sure Crutchfield's customer service will lead you in the right direction anyway.

Thanks for the reply... I guess I can return it within 30 days if it doesn't work out, so I'll go ahead and order it

Can you explain what is this "USA Spec PA11-NIS iPod interface" item...
How it looks like?

One thing to keep in mind: With the new Bose HU in the '06 Z, the "Sat" button was eliminated. So even the one that have Sirius/XM from factory, there is no sat button; simply pushing the radio button toggles between AM/FM/SAT.

DatukZ, please don't hijack my thread. If you want to know what the PA11-NIS looks like and how much it costs, you can follow the link and find out. And how would I know if it will work with a Singapore Z? I'm the one who needs information about installing it; that's why I made a thread.

So anyway, I got my Nissan iPod interface in the mail today, and noticed on the back of the packaging that it says this:

"Note: A cable adaptor from USA-SPEC is required to work with Factory Installed Navigation system and XM receiver."

I have no clue what they mean by this. Anyone know if I have to buy another cable since I have navigation? I was gonna just bring it in to Car Toys or something tomorrow to see about getting it installed but I want to make sure I have all the components.

On a side note, when I called Crutchfield's customer support, they were very iffy about whether or not this would actually work for me, so unfortunately it seems I can't rely on them for a simple straight yes or no answer on anything. I do appreciate the help I've gotten here so far though.

Thanks.

Hey again, just wanted to post a follow-up... I just got back from getting the PA11-NIS installed in my Z, and it works perfectly. Navigation and the CD player still work great, and I can control the iPod directly (instead of through the car's radio buttons) which is exactly what I wanted. So just wanted to post my success story... thanks again for the help
