Default Head unit installed PIC

Here is a pic of my head unit, the Denon R1 limited edition. I have been working my system for over two weeks and it's about to be done. More pics will come within the next few days. Thanks to everyone who provided great instructions on how to take the car apart. Couldnt do it without your help. Enjoy!

WOW WOW WOW!!!

that is the absolute NICEST car stereo head unit I have seen. as a HUGE home audio fan I appreciate the simple design VS all the colors and flashing lights that seem to be so popular in todays car units. This surpasses Alpine and Nakamichi as my favorite (btw, I hAVE an alpine and have Nak home equipt, so no flames from fans of either of these camps please).

NICE JOB!!

Nice looking unit... even seems to have a choice for 'orange' lighting...

but not nice enough for a MSRP of $1200 !!!!!!

For that price it better have a built in 500W amp, dvd and mp3 -- and it doesn't.

It's discontinued. If you can find one in stock, you can prolly get it at close to 700 or so, if I were to guess. It's a REALLY nice unit. Gratz on getting one!

Thank you all for the comments. This particular unit cost me $900. It's the limited edition with aluminum face and copper chassis. The black face unit does not have copper chassis(suppose to have better noise rejection). I really like the look of it. Matches the Z perfectly with the aluminum theme.

Holy Crap!!!

That's sharp. Well worth $900 in my opinion.
I'll agree with rodH-the nicest HU I've ever seen.

enjoy

I wouldn't but that much money into car audio becasue of the nature of car acoustics. They just aren't that great, I'd rather build a tumult sub for that much And use it at home, naturally.
