I put my remote unit above the rear view mirror. You can't see it from the outside of the car because of the black dots that are there.

The hard wire: you should have got a box to plug the telephone wires into. This box has red and black wires, cut the plastic connector off the red wire and stip the sheath to reveal bare wire. Pull the fuse to the cigarette lighter and wrap the wire around it. Plug it back in. The black wire is ground. Look for a screw under the dash and wrap the blck wire around it and tighten. Hardwired. Check this thread for pics and detailed instuctions. Thanks again drivesolo

I just took the cord (you have to buy a 10ft cord to reach) and pushed it under the lip of the black peice of silicon the hides the end of the headliner. Do you understand what I am talking about? There is no need to remove the headliner. Just push it in all the way around the door jam down to the fuse box. I also mounted the connector (that plugs the detector and the remote unit together) on top of the foot rest and pushed the lines behind the plastic to reach the fuse box.

I mounted the detector in the back by the passenger seat (So if I need to adjust volume I can reach it). I then pluged in the power wire and tucked it under teh headliner moving toward the drivers side of the car. The grey headliner is then covered by the black plastic, I just tucked the cord between the headliner and the black plastic (use a credit card to push the cord in without damaging the car). Then across the door frame (thro the silcon flap use the CC) and then down the pillar to the inside of the of the car under the dash board. It is really easy, but your fingers will probably be sore

No, I have tinted windows and unless you know its there you can't see it. Even if you know where it is you have to duck down pretty low to see the outline of the detector. The black dots on the front window and my tint cover any trace of the remote unit. So all is stationary.
