No...not the big ugly pushrod dodge.
I'm talking about viper security systems. I have a 791xv Security System sitting unopened in a box upstairs. Anyone have experience with these? Any known problems with using one on a Z?
Thanks much!

I havent personally, but keep us posted on how it works out. Since you have a 6MT, there is some kind of special bypass that you will need and from what I hear most shops wont even install on. They something about liability from people starting up their car while it is still in gear. A lot of shops have been sued for putting it in. I know they have systems out there especially for manuals, so if I were you I would look into that. I would be nervous everytime I go to auto start my car...

Okay, I checked my viper alarm its the 791 xv. It's on my 90 300zx TT. I don't have the remote start hooked up, 5spd MT. I use it because it has a turbo timer. The remote eats 1AAA battery every, so keep a couple spare in your console. Have it professionally installed, no problems. If you don't have turbo or an auto, you may have more alarm than you need, but nonetheless a good choice.

the viper is definetly ugly, but in a beautiful way...
sorta like the A 10 thunderbolt
definetly not a classically asethetically pleasing car IMO...that would be more like a aston or a jag xk...but the viper is great looking nonethless IMO...to most people hehe
as for hte alarm, its rather square, so not relaly pleasing to look at either![Wink](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
yes it will work fine on your car, the turbo timer is just a timer that keeps the car running when iyou turn it off, not relaly useful...you can also do a RS on a manual, youneed a bypass lock out module so it wont start when you are in gear![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

k thanks for all the feedback. I wouldn't have the remote start hooked up anyway, so no worries there.
As for the Viper business...you can either be a Viper guy or a Vette guy. I know where I stand.
