Default IDMAX 10 d4 with Zenclosure box?

The ID website says these require a 9.6 inch mounting diameter, but the zenclosure under strut box will only accomodate a 9.25 hole.

Anyone have any success using this box for these subs, and if so what did you do to make it work? OR is it not feasible to do that way?

Maybe Zenclosure could make you a custom box?

I would think if you called and talked to them, they could cut the mounting hole to the diameter you need....HOWEVER, the mounting depth of the IDMax is 7.625" and the recommended maximum mounting depth by Zenclosures is no more than 7". I think that might be a problem.

you could probably fab a 3/4" mdf spacer to attach to the box that would allow for the extra depth clearance as well as a larger mounting diameter

The spacer is kind of what I think I will have to do. Hopefully I can get that to work. Might look a little tacky, but hey it's the price for nice bass!

I think asking Mike at Zenclosures to cnc cut the hole the size you need would be the cleanest and easiest way for you.

As for the depth, instead of just a spacer ring, what about cutting out a whole new front panel out of 3/4" mdf and glue/screw to the Zenclosures box, then cover in black carpet.....this way it might not look as 'tacky' as you put it.

spacer will work

better to fab a complete new baffle either 5/8 or 3/4 mdf
and double baffle the enclosure

allowing for a better look than spacer
more rigid baffle
solving mouting depth and diameter issue
