What is the mounting depth of button assembly? That will impact where/how it can be installed.

Also, what is the OEM color of the backlighting-LED in the button? Is the color conversion you are offering free of charge?

 

The first picture is of the stock color. Later I can post a picture with the back light on, although my camera doesn't seem to pick up the lighting accurately.

The 'standard' price will include an OEM color'd button. There will be a small additional charge to change the colors, as it is labor intensive (take the button apart, desolder 5 small surface mount LEDs, purchase 5 new LEDs, solder them in, making sure they are perfectly straight or they backlight funny, test it out and then reassemble the button).

The OEM color is an amber to orange color.

 

The firmware has been finished up for testing. Hopefully in the next 48 hours I'll have one in a car for testing purposes, and soon after our Florida reseller will have one to install in his G35. I'll make a video and post it!

At the beginning with the 'LOCK' LED is flashing the other two LEDs shouldn't be on dim like that, that is a hardware issue that will be fixed on the next circuit board.

The module has two ways to control the 'LOCK' LED, internally and externally. This was made on 'internal' mode where the module takes care of all the timing. In external mode the LED will flash with the OEM LED. This may 'look' nicer but probably isn't really worth running a wire from the module to the BCM just for control.

The mounting depth is approximately 1.5". The mounting diameter is also roughly 1.5".

I got the module installed in my test car tonight - a 1995 Eagle Talon (non turbo, FWD daily driver).

I set it up to use the internal timer and no tach feedback. It works great!

The full stand alone won't be availible for quite some time. As posted before, the only part we've actually worked on thus far is the RFID security part. We have that working, we just need to build the rest of the module around it.

The Stage 3 will be a fairly labor intensive install, so if you don't have experiance with car alarms/remote start/etc. expect to pay a decent amount to get these things professionally installed!

I have a question. If I buy the stage 2 now can I upgrade to stage 3 when its finished. Or will it be a completely diferent kit.

They will be completely different modules centered around the same button. The stage 3 is going to have a rediculous amount of wires on it because it will need to start the car completely by itself.

Stage 2 has 9 wires, stage 3 will probably have twice that.

 

Not sure if this was asked yet, but will this work if you have a turbo timer? Do you need to push the botton again to turn off the car or can you just take the key out?

It should work with no issues. You can still use the key like normal. Depending on how it would be installed, you should still be able to use the push button with the turbo timer as well.

 

The stage 3 I take it has a programmable box like newer remote start systems,, or will you have to sacrifice a key due to the immobilizer system??

 

I don't believe we will be producing any security bypasses. This is a universal module that will work with any vehicle, and we simply arn't big enough to design and manufacture interfaces for every vehicle on the road.

We may look to become a distributor for a company that sells these interfaces, but, again, this module is months and months and months away from even the test phase, so we havn't even talked about this internally.
