first take off lower panels to gain access to the BCM and ignition wires.

i connected the relays together and wired them up out side the car for the most part to make it easier on myself.

i connected the white wire to the red wire so the button would be lit up all the time instead of just when the parking lights were on.

i connected the red wire to the constant 12 volts feed

connect orange wire to the accessory wire

connect the yellow wire and black wire from ignition cut relay to ignition wire (key side)
connect the blue wire from ignition cut relay to ignition wire (car side)

connect the purple wire to the security led wire

connect the green wire from the starter relay to the starter wire

connect the black wire to ground. i recommend using a straight chasis ground instead of using and existing ground wire. (sorry no pic)
connect the blue wire to and rpm signal. i used my existing wire from my KPTechnologies shift light. (sorry no pic)
i then plug the relays into their holders, then connected the control unit, and then plugged in the push button last.

Looking forward to final pics and video. When will this be ready for sale? I want to have this for my maxima, and I believe other members of the maxima forum will want this too, especially when I install it in my car.

We are moving forward quickly with this. SFLG35 has historically been our "alpha" beta tester and we make changes to product/documentation based on his feedback. He usually can find at least one thing we overlooked (I'm not sure how he does it, but he does).

I haven't gotten any feedback from the manual from him. I have a sneaking suspicion that he didn't follow the manual as him and I discussed in detail how to install the thing on his car.

Now that SFLG35 has his installed we'll move to a small pool of beta testers that we've lined up over the past couple months. Once we have feedback from them then it will be available publically.

You can add me to that list of beta testers. As much as I drive my car, I'm sure to find any potential flaw as much as it'll get used.

Nice installation job, Dan. I like the nice, neat way you soldered all the joints and then shrink wrapped them... very slick.

Alright, the first 6 buttons are in the oven baking right now. Hopefully by the end of the night I'll have 6 ready to go assemblies.

The list of beta testers is on the KPtechnologies support forum site, and is full.

OK, I have 6 buttons done. The bad news is they took much longer to make then I was anticipating, which will effect the cost of the module.

I'll have to sit down and figure it all out here very soon.

I think we'll most likely offer this in two versions - one with a button and one where the customer provides the button. That will help keep costs down for those who would rather spend some time working on something then spend money to have it done for them.

Looks like every thing is comming together nicely. When do you expect the buttont to me in full production? When I get back I think Im to the point on the project that I want to try this out on what I've been working on.

I feal more comfortable now about my designs seeing how many times that hot lead was splieced out

Looking forward to full production.

The one thing you can't see there is that all those splices (2 relay coils and the parking light input) are protected by an inline 3A fuse. We recomend connecting the relay coils to the fused size of hot wire for added protection. The contact side of the relay is connected directly to the cars hot lead through a seperate, larger fuse.

Edit - nevermind, you can see that the fuse is inline in a different picture.

What is Stage 3 going to be??? Is it so you dont have to have the key in the ignition at all, and it just has to be in your pocket or something? I would def. be interested in buying that.

The goal of Stage 3 would be a system that requires no key in the ignition.

Again, Stage 2 exits, Stage 3 is planned, but there is no guarentee it will ever happen. The biggest setback for it right now is 1. security and 2. installation difficulty.

It's been a long road (it always is) but we finally have the package together:

Here you can see the main control module, that plug in pushbutton switch, two relays (1 for starter, 1 for ignition cut) and a 15A fuse to protect the starter output.

This is the complete KPtechnologies Push Button Start System.
