Default New Z Owner, Stereo Question

Bought a 07 Z about 4 months ago, and I couldn't be happier with it (except for the fact its been in the shop for the last 2 and a half weeks). The one thing I wish the car had is an av jack for a mp3 player. I don't want to do something over the radio, because those sound like sh*t. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do, or a specific part to (without getting rid of the stock stereo) to add an av jack? Thanks.

I thought Touring models come with them? Unless you have a model below that?

Edit: Nope, they don't. The Sentra does, though. Haha. I hate it when car makes do that.

For a cheap solution get something like a cigarette lighter powered FM modulator and listen to your ipod. If you want better sound quality, go with something like this.

If you look around, you should even be able to find similar devices that allow you to control your ipod with your factory radio and/or steering wheel controls (but they will be somewhat more costly)

It's disappointing on the stereo system on the 350z when it does not have the stereo option to have av plugs... and their entry car (for those same years) like the sentra has it.

I think that USA Spec makes an interface for miniplug, with direct in. Of course, if you're trying to use your iPod, just use an iPod interface from USA Spec. That's what I use. It's direct in, through the back of the radio, and regards your iPod as if it were a CD changer, and scrolls through either playlists or artists. It's very convenient. If you want, I can very easily get you one for the best price you'll find around. I'm a certified dealer.

thanks for the help, everyone. I'm pretty sure I don't have the satellite button on my stereo, though, so I'll have to see which one of these will work.

hi socal350z23 06 and 07 models don't have sat button, you use the radio button to switch to it. when you have xm receiver or in this case ipod interface it will select xm interface when you hit the radio button as an input.

Hope that helps.

if anything look in the back of the radio and you will see this ports

port #4 is where you would plug in

Question Another noob question

Does the Enthusiast have back speakers? Yeah, I know, stupid question. Haven't really spent time listening too much to the radio! So now I'm far away from my Z, wondering...
Was playing with the settings a bit the other day and didn't see a front/back fader, so that's why I'm confused...

Is it easy to install back speakers?

Thanks Clark. I'll put my ear on them tonight

Yeah, they work. I had the fader all the way to the front speakers... Are those back speakers supposed to be bass speakers? Not too much sound coming out of them for sure. The whole sound system isn't all that good anyway, I can see why they call it blose...
