It is similar but much deeper than the glove box, I think the stock cove fits over it when you are done. One thing though, I think you will still need to pull the plastic off surrounding the hole to get the stock 10 frame out and get this thing in but I could be wrong, I have never seen one in person. If these were available before I built my speaker box, I would have probably just bought one and been done with it.

I, like you, have concerns about trunk space. I travel with the car quite a bit and have a need to carry rack mount servers for work. By going with the back corner box, I was able to use the stock sub location for my amp while the glove box held my CarPC.

I ended up building a side box in the back like one of the other Wicked boxes. At the time I thought their's were to expensive but because I don't make stuff out of FG all the time, my ramp up cost for materials and the time it took me, I would say they are reasonable for the cost. All said and done, I am glad I did it, but I am not sure I would do it again if there was something similar already available.

if it is done right it sounds awsome, not competion ready or anything like that, but it is a great upgrade in sound quality and volume from the factory sub. no rattles just good clean bass.

if it is done wrong it will sound pretty bad from rattling and if the enclosure is not seeled right the sub wont sound as good as it could.

That is sick! I am too lazy to go out and lok, but it there room to do that on the otherside for a matched pair? I hate the loss of trunk depth from my box mounted in front of the strut bar.

I couldn't find the pic I was looking for. Two subs installed very custom (like the yellow pic) but only two subs and a port in the middle.

Anything can be done..... $$$

everyone in know that has tried this has failed....how did you make it so there are no rattles? i am not looking for ground shattering bass...but i do want something that sounds pretty good, much better than stock.

a local shop says they can/have made a small box that runs a Memphis shallow sub and it sounds great....also alot less than the 3 bills it costs for the FG one.

mine sounds great with no rattles. it takes a lot of dyno mat (used a whole trunk kit), about 7 hours of work, and paying close attention to what you are doing. as long as you completely seel the area off and dyno mat the ring the sub is mounted on it works great. i have a jlw6v2 with about 600 watts going to it and has held up sounding good for over 7 months now.

^^ that is totally what I would want to do, very clean and hopefully tight bass if you run 8's or 10's...
